Julie Bowman (President) has been a resident in the Tri Valley for 30 years. She became interested in helping veteran’s causes in 2010 when her son joined the Marine Corps. When he deployed, she was introduced to Livermore Military Families which transitioned to Valley Veterans Foundation. “Being able to assist active duty and veterans has been some of my best life experiences.”
Lance Brookner (Treasurer) is currently involved with the Alameda Unified School District along with the Fremont, Newark, and New Haven School Districts in the ROP and DECA programs. His executive experience in the food, beverage and hospitality industry coincided with his work as a consultant when he also served as the Commissioner to the California State Senate on Life & Health Insurance, an advisor to the California Food Export Commission and an advisor with the USA Ambassadors’ Hong Kong & Singapore Export Council Asian Region. His passions along with Veterans include the Wren Yorkie Rescue and his local church.
Susan Campbell (Executive Director) is the mother of a United States Marine. She is currently a member of the Pleasanton Military Families and has recently served as an Executive Director, a Public Relations Director and in Community Relations for several non-profits in the Tri-Valley. Susan has served as a board member of the Livermore Amador Symphony, member of the Livermore Rotary and as an Ambassador of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. She has been a Pleasanton resident for over 30 years.
Susan Hayes has served the Tri-Valley community for over 25 years as a volunteer, nonprofit board member, executive director and currently as a Human Services Commissioner for the City of Pleasanton. Susan holds an M.S. in Organization Development and brings extensive experience in grant program management, fundraising, and advising organizations to VVF. The daughter of a Marine and grand-daughter of Navy and Army officers, her family also includes a son living in San Francisco, a daughter living in Portland, Oregon, and a rescue “schnoodle” named Sadie.
Todd Steffan is the son of an Army Veteran and Grandson of a World War II Veteran. Todd has worked at Las Positas College for over eight years and is currently the Veterans First Program Coordinator working with an amazing team of individuals to build the Veterans First Program at Las Positas College. Todd is also an adjunct Veterans counselor at Diablo Valley College. In addition to coordinating the Veterans Program and Certifying Official, Todd has been very active on and off LPC, holding various positions including Classified Senate President, Planning Budget Committee President, Student Veterans Organization Advisor, California Community Colleges and Chancellor Office Veterans Regional Representative.
